Igor Andreoni

Igor Andreoni is an Assistant Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, serving as co-Chair of the Rubin Transients and Variable Stars Scientific Collaboration. His research focuses on electromagnetic counterparts to gravitational waves, multi-messenger astronomy, and high-energy transients. He leads the Andreoni Transient Astronomy Lab (ATA Lab), which explores extreme cosmic events using telescopes like the Dark Energy Camera and the Zwicky Transient Facility.
