Dr. Idil Akinci is a Lecturer in Race and Social Policy at the School of Social and Political Science, University of Edinburgh. Her research focuses on migration, national identity, and citizenship in the Arab Gulf States, particularly examining the experiences of temporary migrants and second-generation Arab communities in Dubai. She employs ethnographic methods and critical identity frameworks to analyze political systems and social policies in the Global South.
