Dr. Heather L. Johnson is a Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at Queen’s University Belfast, affiliated with the School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics and the Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice. She holds a PhD from McMaster University. Her research focuses on migration, border security, and non-citizenship, emphasizing migrant agency and the politics of irregular migration. She conducts fieldwork in Tanzania, Spain, Morocco, and Australia, analyzing how geopolitical spaces shape political identities.
