She employs qualitative methods such as interviews, policy analysis, and media analysis.
Her doctoral work explored trans people's access to gender-affirming care, and she has since studied young trans mental health, social services' responses to intimate partner violence, and HIV experiences. She teaches in qualitative methods, social medicine, global health, and LGBTQ/gender studies across medical, public health, and gender programs.
Key research projects include analyses of welfare institutions' impacts on healthcare access, participatory studies on improving young trans mental health, and cross-border abortion activism.
