Ibram X. Kendi is the Andrew W. Mellon Professor in the Humanities at Boston University and founding director of the Boston University Center for Antiracist Research. He is a New York Times bestselling author, contributing writer at The Atlantic, and CBS News correspondent. His work focuses on antiracism, the history of racist ideas in America, and social justice advocacy.
Key publications include How to Be an Antiracist (2019), Stamped from the Beginning (2016, National Book Award winner), and Antiracist Baby (2020). He has held fellowships such as the 2020-21 Frances B. Cashin Fellowship at Harvard’s Radcliffe Institute.
His research bridges historical analysis, policy critique, and public education, emphasizing actionable antiracist strategies. Kendi’s work has been instrumental in reshaping national conversations on systemic racism and equity.
