Ibrahim Elnur is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at The American University in Cairo (AUC). He has held academic and research positions across Sudan, Libya, Egypt, the UK, and Norway. His work spans political economy, development studies, and post-conflict reconstruction.

Research Interests: His research centers on the intersection of development, migration, and political economy. He explores how war and globalization affect state structures, urban and rural life, and labor markets. He is particularly focused on the feminization of labor, family dynamics, and the reproduction of educated elites in post-conflict societies.
Professional Involvement: He has been a coordinator of development studies at AUC, a member of the editorial board of the European Training Foundation (ETF) in Turin, Italy (2009–2021), and a member of the Internal Conflicts Sub-Committee of the International Peace Research Association (IPRA). He is also a long-standing member of the Institute of Global and Women's Studies (IGWS) board and the Middle East Center at AUC.
