Ibrahim Alqatawneh is a Lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Sunderland, affiliated with the Faculty of Technology. He joined the university in 2023 after completing his PhD in 2021 at the University of Huddersfield, UK, with a thesis focusing on deep neural networks for condition monitoring. His teaching responsibilities include modules such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science Fundamentals, and Machine Learning for both BSc and MSc programs. He actively supervises MSc students in their projects.
His research interests revolve around Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning/Deep Learning, Automated Fault Detection and Diagnosis, and Internet of Things (IoT). His recent work explores applications of AI in healthcare, fault diagnosis for industrial systems, and pandemic management technologies like the SEDDC eye detection system.
Dr. Alqatawneh’s publications reflect a strong focus on practical AI solutions for real-world challenges, including healthcare, industrial maintenance, and social network sustainability. He has contributed to advancements in neural network architectures and their integration with IoT systems.
