Iasmi Sterianou

Dr. Iasmi Sterianou is Senior Lecturer in Materials Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University's Department of Engineering and Mathematics. She joined the university in 2013 and became Senior Lecturer in 2016. Her research focuses on developing novel functional materials for electronic applications including piezoelectrics, multiferroics, and microwave dielectrics.

She received her MEng in Chemical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and PhD in Engineering Materials from the University of Sheffield (2008). Prior to joining Sheffield Hallam, she worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Sheffield investigating advanced functional oxides.

Dr. Sterianou's research collaborations include partnerships with Universidade de Aveiro (Portugal) on electrophoretic deposition techniques and Technische Universität Darmstadt (Germany) on high-temperature piezoelectric characterization. She serves as Course Leader for the FdEng/BEng Materials Engineering programs.
