Professor Ian Ross MacMillan holds academic appointments at the University of Limerick (UL), including the Department of Sociology, European Centre for the Study of Hate, and Health Research Institute. His research focuses on health inequities, social stratification, and the political economy of demographic phenomena, with emphasis on marginalized groups' empowerment and mortality risks. He has extensive international experience, previously serving as faculty at the University of Minnesota, Bocconi University (Milan), and as director of the Dondena Centre for Research on Social Dynamics.
