Professor Ian Roberts is a faculty member at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics and the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics. He holds the academic rank of Professor and has been a Fellow in Linguistics at Downing College since his appointment. His research focuses on theoretical linguistics, particularly comparative and historical syntax, grounded in Noam Chomsky's Universal Grammar framework.
