Ian Lértora

Dr. Ian Lértora is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology, Leadership, & Counseling at Texas Tech University's College of Education. He holds certifications as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), Licensed Professional Counseling Intern (LPC-Intern), Humanistic Sandtray Therapist, and Certified School Counselor (CSC), with Texas certifications in Early Childhood-4th Grade, Special Education K-12, and Physical Education (K-12). His career emphasizes lifelong learning, integrating counseling into educational systems, and supporting international student transitions.

Dr. Lértora earned his Ph.D. in Counselor Education from Sam Houston State University (2016), an M.A. in Counseling (2013), and a B.S. in Psychology from Southern Arkansas University (2003). His research focuses on relational-cultural theory applications, innovative teaching strategies, and cross-cultural mental health support.
