Ian Goulden is a Professor in the Department of Combinatorics and Optimization at the University of Waterloo, within the Faculty of Mathematics. His research focuses on algebraic combinatorics, with contributions to permutation factorizations, meandric systems, and enumerative combinatorics. He has held positions at the institution since at least 2009, contributing to both research and teaching.
He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 2010 for his research and received the Faculty of Mathematics Award for Distinction in Teaching in 2009. His work integrates advanced algebraic techniques with combinatorial problems, often involving geometric and topological interpretations.
Contact information includes his office at MC 6024 and email ipgoulden@uwaterloo.ca. His research has explored topics like genus-related combinatorial structures and asymptotic analysis of meandric systems.
