معرفی
Ian F. Putnam is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Victoria. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. His research focuses on operator algebras, particularly C*-algebras and their connections to topological and symbolic dynamics, K-theory, and noncommutative geometry. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and the American Mathematical Society.
Education:
- Ph.D., Mathematics, University of California, Berkeley
Research Interests:
- Dynamical systems (topological, symbolic, hyperbolic)
- Operator algebras (C*-algebras, groupoid C*-algebras)
- K-theory and noncommutative geometry
- Smale spaces and homology theories
Recent Work:
Recent publications explore topics like spectral triples for subshifts, K-theoretic duality for hyperbolic systems, and minimal homeomorphisms in dynamical systems. His work bridges abstract algebraic structures with geometric and topological insights.
