Ian DeWeese-Boyd is a Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Gordon College's School of Humanities and Social Sciences. He earned a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of South Carolina, an M.A. in New Testament Exegesis from Covenant Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Saint Louis University in 2001 under Eleonore Stump, focusing on Self-Deception and Moral Responsibility.
Research Interests: His work spans analytic philosophy of religion, moral psychology, freedom of the will, aesthetics, philosophy of education, and global justice. Recent projects examine self-deception, theodicy through film and literature, sustainable consumption ethics, and critiques of patriotism.
