Ian Davies is an Associate Professor in the School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering at Curtin University. His research spans composite materials (polymer/ceramic matrix), biomaterials, and computational modeling of material failure. Recent work includes sustainable composites using natural fibers, 3D printing innovations, and metal hydride applications in renewable energy storage.
He leads projects on concrete-filled steel tubular structures and supervises graduate students in materials science. His lab focuses on multi-objective optimization of hybrid composites and failure analysis of brittle materials.
