IVAN JELIĆ

IVAN JELIĆ is an Associate Professor of Chamber Music at the Faculty of Arts, University of Niš. Born in 1956, he graduated in Oboe from the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade under Prof. Ljubiša Petruševski. A distinguished musician, he served as principal oboist with the Niš Symphony Orchestra for many years and was a member of the Wind Quintet and Chamber Trio, performing extensively across Serbia. His accolades include a First Prize at the 1977 International Soloist Competition in Langollen, UK.

As an educator, Prof. Jelić has guided students to numerous awards at festivals and competitions. He has conducted the city chamber orchestra Empress Theodora since 1975, blending performance and pedagogical excellence. His professional roles span artistic leadership and instrumental instruction, emphasizing chamber music and wind instrument techniques.

His career reflects a commitment to both classical performance and music education, with enduring contributions to Serbia’s cultural landscape.
