IGNACIO JAVIER MARTIN SANZ

IGNACIO JAVIER MARTIN SANZ is a Professor at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). He is a member of the R&D+i Center for Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Development (CBDS) and the Plant & Animal Ecology Lab (PAELLA), where he contributes to understanding ecological processes and sustainable resource management.

Research Interests

His research spans a multidisciplinary spectrum that includes:

• Agronomy and Crop Science
• Insect Science and Entomology
• Ecological Modeling and Systems Ecology
• Evolutionary Biology, Behavior and Systematics

These themes converge in the development of models and empirical studies aimed at conserving biodiversity and optimizing agricultural practices.

Research Groups & Labs

He actively collaborates within the Plant & Animal Ecology Lab (PAELLA), a research group focused on integrative approaches to plant–animal interactions and ecosystem functioning.
