Høgni C. Kamban is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Science and Technology, University of the Faroe Islands. His research focuses on quantum mechanical phenomena in two-dimensional materials, particularly exciton dynamics and ionization processes under external fields.
- PhD in Physics from Aalborg University (2022)
- MSc in Physics and Mathematics from Aalborg University (2018)
- BSc in Physics from Aalborg University (2016)
His work investigates two-dimensional excitons, transition metal dichalcogenides, and their responses to intense terahertz pulses and electric fields. Key contributions include studies on nonlinear optical response functions, Stark shifts, and field-induced dissociation mechanisms.
Recent publications span quantum dynamics in phosphorene, computational modeling of ionization processes, and semiclassical approaches to exciton behavior. Collaborations with researchers like T.G. Pedersen and N.M.R. Peres highlight his focus on theoretical and computational condensed matter physics.
