Dr. Héctor Muñoz-Avila is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Lehigh University. He rejoined Lehigh in July 2025 after serving as a Program Director at the National Science Foundation (NSF), where he led the Information Integration and Informatics (III) program and managed the AI and ML portfolios. His research integrates statistical machine learning, symbolic planning, and reasoning techniques to develop cognitive systems with high-level capabilities.
