Hyunjung Shim is an Assistant Professor in the Law, Criminal Justice & Society Program (Administration of Justice) at the University of Pittsburgh (Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences and College of General Studies). She earned her Ph.D. in Criminology from the University of Cincinnati in 2023. Her research focuses on victimology, routine activities theory, and crime prevention, emphasizing guardianship mechanisms and shielded routines to mitigate victimization risks.
