Dr Hyung Jin Chang is an Associate Professor in the School of Computer Science at the University of Birmingham. He earned a PhD in machine learning and computer vision from Seoul National University in 2013, following a BSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the same institution in 2006.
- Research focuses on artificial intelligence, computer vision, robotics, and human-robot interaction, particularly human-centred visual learning for hand/body pose estimation, gaze tracking, and action/internal state understanding.
- Key projects include EU FP7 GRANT 612139, EU H2020 GRANT 643783, and industry collaborations with Samsung Electronics and Samsung GRO Grant.
