Professor Hyun Bang Shin is the Head of the Department of Geography and Environment at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). His expertise spans gentrification, urban political economy, and the circulation of urban models, particularly in East and Southeast Asia. He has held pivotal roles, including Director of LSE's Saw Swee Hock Southeast Asia Centre (2018–2023) and editor of the International Journal of Urban and Regional Research (2021–2024).
