Hyobin Kwon is a Lecturer of Korean at Rutgers University, specializing in Korean calligraphy and Asian art. As a New York-based artist, she bridges Korean script (Hangeul), calligraphy, and traditional East Asian painting practices with global audiences.

Her research and artistic practice focus on Korean calligraphy, Asian ink brush painting, and the integration of traditional East Asian art forms into contemporary contexts. She has exhibited internationally in cities including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Venice, and Seoul.
Hyobin Kwon’s academic contributions include teaching courses on the history of Korean script and calligraphy. She is noted as the first foreigner to earn a doctorate in Chinese bird and flower painting art history at the China Academy of Art.
