In October 2021, he served as a guest researcher at Saarland University through the UniGR-CBS program, collaborating with Prof. Dr. H. Peter Dörrenbächer on comparative analysis of cross-border cooperation impacts.
His research centers on Border Studies and Political Geography, with specific focus on how global crises like the COVID-19 pandemic disrupt regional cross-border dynamics. He examines institutional resilience in borderlands, comparing the Czech-Polish-Slovak tripoint region with the multinational Greater Region of Europe.
Current work involves methodological frameworks for assessing pandemic-induced shifts in transnational governance, emphasizing territorial cohesion in European border regions under external shocks.
