معرفی
Huw Woodward is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Environmental Policy, Imperial College London, affiliated with the Grantham Institute and the Network of Excellence in Air Quality. He works within the Integrated Assessment Unit (IAU), leading projects on uncertainty analysis, ecosystem impacts of air pollutants, and future UK land use. His research focuses on air quality exposure, nitrogen cycle dynamics, and environmental modelling uncertainties, supporting Defra’s development of UK air quality policies, including PM2.5 reduction targets under the Environment Act 2021.
- Education: PhD in Fracture Mechanics from the University of Manchester (methodology for crack propagation in structures).
His expertise spans local-scale computational fluid mechanics, Gaussian plume modelling, and national-scale policy-oriented exposure models. Key projects include the SNAPCS initiative, analyzing shipping emissions and abatement options for PM2.5.
He has contributed to Defra reports on air quality policy, ship emissions, and Gaussian plume applicability in short-range scenarios.
