Huseyin Sarper is a Master Lecturer at the Batten College of Engineering and Technology, Old Dominion University. Previously, he served as a Professor of Engineering at Colorado State University-Pueblo (1998–2014) and as Associate Director of the NASA Space Grant Consortium in Colorado. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Virginia Tech (1988), an M.S. from Virginia Tech (1982), and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Penn State (1980). He is a registered Professional Engineer (Colorado, 1990) and Engineer-In-Training (Virginia, 1981).
His research focuses on Reliability Engineering, Economic Analysis, Engineering Education, and Space Systems. A notable project was the Descent Analysis of Model Rockets grant ($3,000, 2017).
His publication includes a conference paper on integrating manufacturing economics into freshman engineering education, highlighting hands-on metal cutting projects.
