Carol Considine is a Professor in the Batten College of Engineering & Technology at Old Dominion University. She holds BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech and UC Berkeley respectively. With over 15 years of industrial construction experience prior to academia, she has co-authored 30+ publications focused on applied research and engineering education.

Her research spans applied civil engineering, lean enterprise simulation, biomass energy feasibility, and utility privatization. She has secured competitive grants exceeding $2.0 million for projects like Shipbuilding Career Day Events and Waste-to-Energy Initiatives.
Scientific awards include:
- 2001 Most Inspiring Professor (College of Engineering & Technology)
She serves as a mentor in the ASCE Excellence in Civil Engineering Education (ExCEEd) workshops and held leadership roles in the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC), including Region 1 Director.
