Humberto Bustince is a Full Professor of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the Public University of Navarra and holds an Honorary Professorship at the University of Nottingham. He leads the Artificial Intelligence and Approximate Reasoning research group, focusing on theoretical advancements and practical applications in fuzzy systems and computational intelligence.

His research spans aggregation functions, fuzzy sets, machine learning, and big data, with over 240 publications in top-tier journals and conferences. Five of his works are highly cited per Science Essential Indicators.
He has led 11 public-funded research projects (national/regional) and collaborated with industry leaders in banking, renewable energy, and security. Internationally, he participated in two major research initiatives.
