Huitzu Lu is a Professor in the Department of Modern Languages & Literatures at California State University, East Bay (CSUEB). She serves as the coordinator of the Chinese Language and Culture Program. With over 15 years of teaching experience at the university level, she has taught at institutions such as the University of Arizona, Foothill College, Defense Language Institute, and UC Berkeley. Her expertise lies in Chinese literature, history, and language education.
Dr. Lu holds a B.A. in History from National Taiwan University, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in East Asian Languages and Cultures from the University of Arizona. She specializes in developing university-level Chinese language curricula and has created multiple online courses, earning Quality Matter (QM) recognition for her work. Her research focuses on Chinese literary and historical studies, with publications in academic journals.
She contributes to pedagogical innovation through online education and curriculum design. Her professional accolades include QM certification, reflecting her commitment to educational quality.
