Hugues Ouellet

Hugues Ouellet is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at The University of Texas at El Paso. His research focuses on Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), hemoproteins (hemoglobins and cytochrome P450s), and bacterial pathogenesis. He specializes in genetic manipulation of Mycobacterium bovis BCG and Mtb, alongside biochemical and biophysical characterization of enzymes.

Trained by a leading expert in Mtb pathogenesis, Dr. Ouellet employs state-of-the-art omics tools to study drug targets. His expertise spans molecular biology, enzymology, and protein biochemistry.
