Hugo Dil

Hugo Dil is a Full Professor at École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), affiliated with the School of Basic Sciences (SB), the Institute of Physics (IPHYS), and multiple research units including SPH-ENS, SCI-SB-HD, and LACUS-GE. He leads a research group focused on experimental condensed matter physics, particularly in the areas of spintronics and quantum materials. He is also a member of the doctoral program committee for Physics at EPFL, highlighting his leadership in academic training and research supervision.

His research interests center on the electronic and spin structure of quantum materials, with a strong emphasis on topological materials, spin-orbit coupling, Rashba effects, ferroelectric semiconductors, and spin-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES). His work bridges fundamental physics and potential applications in next-generation electronic devices.
