Hugh Coe is a Professor of Atmospheric Composition at The University of Manchester and Director of the Manchester Environmental Research Institute (MERI). He also serves as a visiting Professor at Fudan University. His research focuses on air pollution processes, regional climate impacts, and large-scale atmospheric field studies, including biomass burning, transboundary pollution, and clean atmosphere dynamics. His work has led to over 300 peer-reviewed publications and an h-index of 69, earning recognition as one of the 100 Most Highly Cited Geoscientists (2014, 2018) and recipient of the 2022 Vilhelm Bjerknes Medal from the European Geophysical Union.
