Huanxing Yang is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Economics at The Ohio State University (OSU), serving as Chair since July 2023. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania (2004) and joined OSU immediately after graduation. His research focuses on industrial organization, information economics, consumer search, internet economics, and network economics. Recent projects examine competitive bundling strategies, long-term product awareness via social learning, and misinformation dynamics in networks.
Dr. Yang’s academic journey includes a B.S. in Management Information Systems from Renmin University of China (1993) and an M.A. in Economics from Fudan University (1996). He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on microeconomic theory, game theory, and industrial organization. His 28 peer-reviewed articles appear in journals like the Rand Journal of Economics and American Economic Journal: Microeconomics, with recent work addressing strategic communication, collaborative networks, and targeted advertising on digital platforms.
