Huang Yu-Ling

Prof. Huang Yu-Ling is an Associate Professor at the School of Medicine, National Cheng Kung University, and affiliated with the Gender and Women Studies Center. Her research focuses on the sociology of health and medicine, policy-making, medical humanities, gender studies, and governance during health crises like the pandemic. She leads interdisciplinary projects addressing reproductive healthcare policies, HPV vaccine communication, elderly care in Taiwan, and human rights in public health contexts.

Her work bridges sociological theory with practical health policy analysis, emphasizing the intersection of gender, knowledge systems, and healthcare delivery. Recent projects include studies on Taiwan's aging population healthcare infrastructure and the socio-political dimensions of pandemic responses. She collaborates with international scholars through her affiliation with the European Research Center on Contemporary Taiwan during her visiting scholar stay from June 7 to July 2, 2024.
