Hsin-I Liu is Professor of Communication Arts at the University of the Incarnate Word, holding a PhD in Communication Studies from the University of Iowa. His research examines critical cultural theory, media power structures, and philosophical foundations of communication.
Liu's scholarship focuses on Frankfurt School critical theory, media power dynamics, and intercultural communication paradigms. He investigates how media systems shape social consciousness and develops frameworks for analyzing communicative rationality.
His publications demonstrate expertise in critical media analysis with consistent examination of Adorno's theories and contemporary digital culture. Liu's interdisciplinary approach connects communication theory with philosophical and cultural studies perspectives.
Liu has received multiple awards including the Ballard and Seashore Dissertation Fellowship and Faculty Endowment Research Award. He serves on university committees including Rank and Tenure while mentoring graduate students in communication theory.
As Visiting Professor at Peking University's School of Journalism and Communication, he established international research collaborations focusing on media critique and public communication.
