Prof. Hrvoje Turkulin is a full professor at the University of Zagreb's Faculty of Forestry, specializing in wood technology for construction. He holds a permanent position and has served since 1984, progressing from graduate engineer (1984) to master's (1990) and doctoral degrees (1996). His expertise spans wood durability, surface treatments, and construction applications, with a focus on photodegradation, bonding, and flooring systems.
He leads the accredited Laboratory for Wood in Construction (LDG) and has authored over 100 publications, including key works like his 1996 doctoral dissertation on photodegradation. His research emphasizes improving wood quality through protective technologies, standardization, and collaboration with architects. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Materials (Wood Science) and serves on editorial boards of journals like the European Journal of Wood and Wood Products.
