Hrayer Aprahamian is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Texas A&M University, affiliated with the Texas A&M Energy Institute. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech (2018), an M.S. in Engineering Management from the American University of Beirut (2012), and a B.S. in Physics from the Lebanese University (2010).
His research focuses on the intersection of operations research and machine learning, particularly combinatorial optimization, network analysis, and algorithmic approaches for complex systems. Applications include healthcare systems, public health policy, and disaster management. His work emphasizes optimizing 'black-box' systems and addressing societal challenges through data-driven methodologies.
Key research areas include pandemic response strategies, risk-based screening, equitable resource allocation, and mental health services optimization. He has collaborated with organizations such as the American Red Cross, University of Texas Medical Branch, and Texas A&M’s Counseling and Psychological Services to translate research into actionable policies.
