Professor Howard Fallowfield is a faculty member at Flinders University, affiliated with the College of Science and Engineering. His research focuses on aquatic microbial ecology, water quality, and wastewater treatment technologies. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Microbiology & Food Science from the University of Leeds and a PhD in freshwater microbial ecology from the University of Dundee.
His major research projects include high-rate algal ponds (HRAPs) for wastewater treatment, managed aquifer recharge systems, and microbial risk assessment of water resources. He has collaborated with organizations like the Australian Water Association and the Goyder Institute, contributing to sustainable water management solutions.
