Hou Wenxuan is a Chair Professor in Corporate Finance at the University of Edinburgh Business School and holds a Special-term Professorship at Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance. He serves as Co-Chair of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) Young Academy of Scotland. His research focuses on financial development, corporate governance, green finance, political economy in emerging markets, and fintech. He has published over 50 articles in leading journals and authored six books with Palgrave Macmillan.
Education: PhD from Manchester Business School and Executive Certificate from Kellogg School of Management.
Research Interests: His work spans corporate finance innovation, ethical finance, climate finance, and the interplay between legal institutions and financial systems. He frequently publishes on topics such as microfinance, fintech applications in finance, and corporate social responsibility in emerging economies.
