Dr. Hossein Zarei is an Assistant Professor of Operations Management at Aston Business School and a member of the Aston Crisis Management Centre at Aston University, UK. He previously served as a Lecturer in Business Strategy at Coventry University (2019–2024). He holds dual PhDs from Politecnico di Milano (2018) and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (2020), and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

Research: Focuses on sustainable humanitarian logistics, particularly environmental and social sustainability in supply chains. Notable contributions include studies on green logistics, waste management, and technology adoption in disaster response. He received the 2021 Humanitarian Logistics Award from ALAN and leads projects funded by USAID and ICRC.
Teaching: Teaches operations management, supply chain strategy, and research methods at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Courses include Principles of Operations Management (BN1157) and Business Model Generation (BB0BMG). Supervises two current PhD students and has examined numerous postgraduate defenses.
Consultancy: Collaborates with organizations like the ICRC and USAID on projects such as ICRC Waste Management Through Green Logistics (2020–2021) and The Business Case for A Fleet Manager (2023–2024).
Affiliations: Actively involved in global academic networks and has taught in Spain, Italy, Malaysia, Iran, Kazakhstan, and the UK. Research interests span cross-cultural studies, career counseling ecosystems, and healthcare sustainability.
