Dr. Donato Masi is a Senior Lecturer in Operations Management at Aston Business School, part of the College of Business and Social Sciences at Aston University. He holds a PhD in Management Engineering and an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, Italy. His research focuses on sustainable operations, supply chain management, digitalization, and Industry 4.0 applications, particularly in enhancing sustainability through technology integration. He actively collaborates with industry on projects funded by public and private sectors, emphasizing practical solutions for SMEs and circular economy frameworks.
Dr. Masi's educational background includes advanced degrees in engineering, positioning him to bridge technical and managerial challenges in operations. His work often addresses challenges in occupational health and safety in SMEs, leveraging systems thinking and action research methodologies. He contributes to policy development in cybersecurity for supply chains and leads the Aston Cyber Security Innovation (CSI) Centre in related initiatives.
His recent research explores AI-driven pricing strategies, digital transformation in SMEs, and the temporal/spatial dynamics of sustainable urban agglomerations. He emphasizes the need for frameworks that align eco-industrial practices with stakeholder engagement and regulatory policies.
