Dr. Hossein Tavana is a Professor and Department Chair in the College of Engineering and Polymer Science at the University of Akron, Ohio. He joined the university in 2010 and leads the Biomedical Engineering department, focusing on tissue engineering microtechnologies to mimic cellular microenvironments. His research spans 3D tumor models for studying cancer drug resistance, lung airway models for therapeutic delivery studies, and biofluid mechanics.
