Dr. Hossein Nassaji is a Professor of Applied Linguistics in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Victoria, Canada. His research focuses on second language acquisition, corrective feedback, form-focused instruction, and sociocultural theories in language learning. He has authored or co-authored numerous books and articles in leading journals such as Applied Linguistics, Language Learning, and TESOL Quarterly. He currently serves as Co-Editor of Language Teaching Research and Editor of the Grammar Teaching Volume in the TESOL Encyclopedia of English Language Teaching.
His research emphasizes the role of interactional feedback in instructed SLA, integrating experimental and qualitative methods. Key awards include the 2012 Humanities Award for Research Excellence and the Kenneth W. Mildenberger Prize. His editorial work includes special issues on form-focused interaction and current advances in instructed SLA, reflecting his commitment to advancing SLA pedagogy.
