Dr. Hossein Ashrafi is an Associate Professor in Pathology/Cancer Biology at Kingston University London, affiliated with the Department of Biomolecular Sciences within the School of Life Sciences, Pharmacy and Chemistry. He leads the MSc Cancer Biology program and teaches across multiple biomedical science courses, including modules on cancer biology, immunology, and research techniques.
He earned his PhD from the University of Glasgow and holds a DVM from the University of Tehran, along with a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science (FIBMS) and a Fellow of Higher Education (FHEA).
Dr. Ashrafi's research centers on the role of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) in various cancers, including colorectal, gastrointestinal, oral, and urinary tract cancers. His work explores both the pathogenesis of HPV and the development of therapeutic strategies, particularly using natural products such as Ficus carica latex. His recent publications reflect a strong focus on transcriptomic analysis, immune modulation, and epidemiological studies of HPV across diverse populations.
His research has led to Q1 publications and collaborations with clinicians and institutions in the UK, Qatar, Turkey, and Austria. He is actively involved in knowledge exchange, presenting at international conferences such as the International Papillomavirus Conference and the Leaders in Oncology Summit.

His leadership extends to research ethics, grant reviewing, and fostering international collaborations that bridge academia and clinical practice.
