His research leverages omics technologies and molecular techniques to study equine placentitis (ascending and nocardioform types), placental biology, and maternal recognition of pregnancy. Recent work includes proteomic identification of serum biomarkers for placentitis and transcriptomic analysis of placental immune networks.
The 15 most recent articles highlight trends in equine placental immunology, microbiome characterization, galectin signaling, and antioxidant applications in reproduction. These span transcriptomics, proteomics, and epigenetics in horses and mouse models.
- Scientific Awards: 2023 Professor W.R. Allen ISER Award; 2022 Best International Abstract Award; 2020 Dr. Jerry Rains Memorial Award; 2017 Albert and Lorraine Clay Fellowship; 2004 Valedictorian at Mansoura University.
He serves as an editor and reviewer for international journals and has presented at conferences in the U.S., Japan, Turkey, and Egypt. His work directly supports the equine industry by improving pregnancy outcomes and foal health.
