Prof. Dr.-Ing. Horst Wieker is a faculty member at Saarland University of Applied Sciences in the College of Engineering, specializing in Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and Communication Technology. As Head of the Traffic Telematics Research Group (FGVT), he leads projects like 5G NetMobil, CONVERGE, and simTD, focusing on vehicle-to-infrastructure communication, autonomous driving, and network architectures.
