Hope R. Metcalf is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Iowa College of Law, joining the faculty in January 2025. She brings over 15 years of experience from Yale Law School, where she held leadership roles at the Orville H. Schell, Jr. Center for International Human Rights Law and the Arthur Liman Center for Public Interest Law.

- Co-teacher, Allard K. Lowenstein International Human Rights Clinic
- Director, Arthur Liman Center for Public Interest Law (prior to Schell Center role)
- Practiced law at Debevoise & Plimpton and Wiggin and Dana
Her research focuses on human rights, international human rights law, and public interest law. At Yale, she mentored students through fellowships, clinics, and collaborative projects addressing systemic legal challenges. Her work bridges academic rigor with real-world advocacy, emphasizing justice and equity.
