Professor Hongying Meng is a full professor in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at Brunel University London, within the College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences. He is the Director of the Transnational Education Programme with Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CQUPT) in China, and a key member of several research centres including the Institute of Digital Futures, Centre for AI: Social and Digital Innovation, and Intelligent Digital Economy and Society.

His recent publications reflect a strong focus on AI-driven medical imaging, emotion recognition systems, sparse-view CT reconstruction, and lightweight neural architectures.
