Dr. Hongyang Dong is an Assistant Professor at the School of Engineering, University of Warwick. He previously served as a Research Fellow in Machine Learning and Intelligent Control at Warwick (2019–2022) before transitioning to his current role. His expertise spans control theories, machine learning, and their applications in complex systems like offshore renewable energy and autonomous robotics.
Research Interests: Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Deep Learning, Control Theories (Adaptive Dynamic Programming, Optimal Control), and applications in offshore wind energy systems and autonomous robotics. He teaches courses such as ES1A6 (Systems Modelling), ES2G2 (Electromechanical Design), and ES3E8 (Precision Control).
