Dr. Hongxia Wang is Lecturer in Software Engineering & Cybersecurity at Aston University's School of Computer Science and Digital Technologies. She joined Aston in 2012 following research positions at the University of Salford and University of Surrey, bringing expertise in urban information modeling and smart city technologies.
Her research program focuses on:
- Integration frameworks for BIM/CAD/GIS systems
- Semantic sensing information services
- Cross-domain knowledge representation
- 3D city modeling infrastructures
Publications demonstrate applied research in sensor information modeling for urban environments and educational technology ecosystems. Current teaching includes Introduction to Computer Systems, Internet Applications, and Geographic Information Systems courses. Dr. Wang serves on editorial boards for Buildings and Journal of Urban Technology, supporting knowledge dissemination in urban informatics.
